While it’s back to school for students, it’s back to booths for art enthusiasts—with a host of dealers and artists exhibiting in a range of art shows set up around the city. For the next few days, there is browsing and buying— paintings, sculptures, crafts, collages, photos.
Devoted to drawings, Art On Paper is exhibiting at Pier 36, just up the road from the Javits Center which is the site for two shows—cutting edge works at The Armory Show and classic to glittery pictures at Photofairs.
Independent 20th Century is set up in the monumental Battery Maritime Building at Cipriani South Street. From nearby the ferry crosses to the NADA show set up on Governors Island.
With Sunday the closing date, art lovers are in for a busy weekend. Here’s a sampling of what can be seen around town.
